Gregorio Lozano III, MS, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
(469) 333-6163
As a licensed Christian counselor, I work with couples, adult individuals, teens, and families dealing with a variety of concerns. I will listen to your story, seek to identify with your pain, and be present with you in the midst of it. I will accept you exactly as you are, without judgment. With empathy, warmth, and the love of God, I will welcome you into our sessions and work with you to determine the issues you’re struggling with and the best path forward for healing. My primary goal is for you to heal from the inside out, with God’s help and direction.

Online Counseling – Mon, Wed & Fri
If you’re dealing with emotional pain or you’re in a relationship that makes you feel overwhelmed, I will work with you to help you better understand yourself and those with whom you’re in a relationship. Together we will work toward gaining a healthier experience by identifying new ways to help you overcome your emotional struggle and connect with your partner. No matter what you may be going through – anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, addiction, or other concerns – I would be honored to listen to your story and help you take steps toward recovery and hope.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My main goal as your counselor is to help you heal. I believe a good counselor needs to meet the following basic human needs to be able to help their clients heal: to provide emotional safety, to provide the client with unconditional positive regard, to accept the person for who they are, and to be genuine. I aim to provide for all of these needs in our sessions as we work together to determine the best path forward for your recovery and personal growth.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer a warm, welcoming environment where you can feel understood and accepted without judgment. Together we will explore any areas of concern that you’d like to discuss and work to establish a customized treatment plan to meet your individual needs. Although I am a Christian myself, one does not have to align with my views or be a believer to meet with me, as I welcome anyone in my practice.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
My approach as a Christian counselor is to accept everyone for who they are, seek to identify with their pain, and be there with them. The advantage of someone with the Spirit of Christ is that they tend to be loving and accepting of others. My faith informs my practice in that anyone who walks through my door to receive therapy, to have someone listen to them, and to be trusted with their vulnerabilities will be received just as they are, as an individual created in the image of God.
Qualifications & Experience
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master of Science in Psychology, and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, all from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (Level I) and am currently pursuing official certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy.
My Call to Christian Counseling
My initial work as a mental health case manager made me realize how helpless I was without advanced training. My drive to help my clients went beyond what was required of me. That’s when I knew that I needed professional training to live out my potential. This was the practical side and on the surface level. The most profound reason is that this was God’s calling for me (see Esther 4:14 and 2 Corinthians 9:8).
More About Me/On a Personal Note
I love spending time with my wonderful children. I have always had a love for the martial arts and to this day, I have a great interest in continuing my pursuit for mastery of Wing Chun, a form of Kung Fu. To stay fit, I exercise by riding my mountain bike and playing tennis. I also enjoy watching movies as well as documentaries related to forensics.

Abandonment and Neglect
Do you have an active social life and you’re always with other people, but still find yourself feeling lonely? Maybe you’re even the life of the party but still find yourself feeling empty and alone. Do you struggle to connect with others or perhaps have noticed that others don’t connect well with you? If so, therapy can help you feel seen and understood. This may seem scary at first, but with care and guidance, you can learn to feel more comfortable within your relationships and interactions with others. Together we can explore this process in therapy so you can take steps toward improved health and relationships.
Codependency
Perhaps you’ve realized that one of your relationships – maybe your significant other, a parent, or a friend – has become so stressful that it may be hard for you to be around them. Moreover, it has become difficult for you to say what you need to say. You find this hard because you may feel as if you’re walking on eggshells and so you’re filled with fear or anger that you can no longer express. You become afraid that you will be rejected and criticized by your partner and it’s hard for you to leave. You need someone to help you feel seen and heard. Therapy can help to fulfill this need, which could become your first step in healing.
Individual Counseling
You’ve found yourself feeling stressed out in your marriage or relationship. You may have asked your significant other about going to counseling, but they refuse. You now have no choice but to come to counseling on your own because your significant other does not seem to show interest, or maybe they believe that you are the problem and not them. If this is your situation, you can still benefit from one-on-one counseling. The way I explain this to my clients is as follows: when someone passes away before we get to say goodbye to them (think an unexpected accident), or we had some sort of unresolved issues with them, we no longer have access to that person to settle our issues with and thus, we may be left with no choice but to resolve them from within ourselves. Healing is still possible and I could help guide you through this process.
Relationship Issues
We have a relationship with most things in our lives, even beyond people – we experience relationships with other things, events, circumstances, jobs, memories, and more. These relationships shape how we view these things and how we experience them emotionally. Understanding this deeply can help you realize how much control you actually have over many things in your life. Together in counseling we’ll consider your relationships, evaluate each of them, and determine which ones may need adjusting in order for you to be in a healthier place.
Trauma
Trauma rarely occurs without another person involved. Even in the case of auto accidents, for example, there’s always someone behind it that caused it. With Emotionally Focused Therapy, we believe that just as wounds can occur within relationships, so can the healing take place within relationships. As your counselor, I can help you work towards resolving any wounds you’ve experienced from someone from your past.
